US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has begun her 11-day tour of the Africa saying improving democracy is the key to boosting trade and development. Her trip comes less than a month after US President Barack Obama traveled to Ghana. Analysts say the tour is part of an attempt by the US to show that Africa remains a key foreign policy priority.

 

Angola
Angolaand the International Monetary Fund have made progress on some issues, Angola's finance minister has said, raising the prospects for a deal between the two parties. IMF officials are meeting members of the Angolan government for a second day to work on a possible deal that could involve loans. The global recession and a sharp drop in oil exports and prices has weighed on Angola's economy, which depends on oil for nearly 90 percent of its income.

 

Niger
Niger voted on Tuesday on extending President Mamadou Tandja's term by three years in a referendum criticized by the opposition and the international community as undemocratic and bad for stability. Tandja, who has ruled the Saharan state since 1999, is asking for three more years to oversee big foreign investments including a $5 billion oil deal with China National Petroleum Corp and a 1.2 billion euro uranium mine contract with France's Areva.

 

Nigeria
Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs, Ambassador Liu Guijin, has said that the total bi-lateral volume of trade between Nigeria and China is over $7 billion, making Nigeria China's fourth largest trade partner.

Hmmm yet we still need employment, rural infrastructures, electricity, good drinking water, good roads etc. God will give us God fearing leaders to achieve this.

Efeglo....God will not come down from heaven to rescue a nation that has abused itself! Until Nigerians stop waiting on God while destroying herself will she get out of this rot.

Yes, that's while the good people are here to stop them, how can we prevail by prayers and work. If we have God fearing leaders we can achieve all we want.

If you count yourself fit, capable, Godfearing, strong and what have you. People like you can make Nigeria proud. What Nigerian's need is continous prayers. I do believe that no matter what is happening in Nigeria that we still have lots of good people who will not kill because of money in this country. Let us show good example wherever we find ourselves.
