Before you start this message, pray the following prayers:
- I shall not carry evil things into the coming half year, in the name of Jesus.
- I bury every evil thing that wants to follow me into the coming half year, in the name of Jesus.
- O God arise, and let your enemies be scattered, in the name of Jesus.
- Father Lord, I thank you for disgracing my Goliath in the last half year, in the name of Jesus.
- Every stubborn pursuer assigned against me in the coming half year, i bury you alive, in the name of Jesus.
- Every power that want my position to disappear with the coming half year, you are a liar, die! in the name of Jesus.
- O God my Father; I thank you that the storm is over, in the name of Jesus.
- O God my father, let my expectation in the coming half year manifest speedily and quickly, in the name of Jesus.
Psalm 34:17 says; "The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles." The righteous cry (He didn't say the sinners), and the Lord heareth and delivereth them out of their troubles. Than verse 19 says; "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all." The same idea is taken from Psalm 9:9; "The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble." And then in Proverbs 17:22, which is the most important of it all; "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones."
Brethen, I beg you to read slowly and understandingly today. It is not possible to run away from problems because; there is no place you can run to that trouble will not find you. All of life itself is trouble in one from or the other, and if you are a careful reader of the Bible, one important fact you can pick from of all the men in the Bible is that, they all uniformly got into trouble, but they got out. So, if you are looking for a problem free existence, you are having a fraudulent dream; no one is immune from trouble and problems have no regard for anyone and like I say to many- "the problem free life is only available at the cemetery." So, whether you like it or not, God will always leave a challenge in your life that you have to conquer. Life itself is a process of solving problems and to a believer, every problem should be seen as a miracle in disguise. God will not deliver you from problem, but He will deliver you in the problem. Your problem can make you better or they can make you very, very bitter. Your problem can build you up or it can burst you, but the truth is that, every problem has a life span and God in His own mercy does not reveal everything at the same time; He reveals some and He hides some. He works line upon line, precept upon precept and by the time you sit down and begin to calculate the wheels on which life runs, you will find out that problems are springboards to progress and growth.
It was somebody that sat down and made the bulb that brought light. It was because there was a problem-rooms used to get dark and you can not really move light around. So, a scientist sat down and began to experiment, he carried out over twenty thousand experiments and he was failing, until he finally got it, so the problem brought growth and progress. Whether you like it or not, whether you are born again, sanctified, spirit-filled or not, it does not matter, into every life, a little bit or rain of trouble will fall and you cannot be victorious if you do not go into battle. You cannot begin to give testimony if you have not passed through a test, but the truth is this, whichever condition you find yourself in now, it is not as important as your attitude. What matters is what happens in you, not what is happening to you.
What is attitude?
The key of attitude we are talking about that a Christian should have is that, your attitude should be optimistic even in uncertain times-something seem uncertain, but really, you are still positive about it. Your attitude is your ability to see challenges as opportunities, not seeing them as something that has come to kill you. Your attitude is to see your set-backs as temporary inconveniences; your attitude is your ability to welcome changes. Your attitude is your ability to have a posture that is not upset by surprises. Your actions and your attitudes reflect who you really are, your outlook, your disposition, your outlook towards life- your attitude reveals all these things.
These are the deep areas of our lives that we need deep prayers to address because; on these areas that we are talking about today, the enemy has set some people into concrete and they need the hammer of God's power to break that concrete down. Whenever something happens, the first attitude of some people is complete negativity. If any small symptom of infirmity gets to them, the first thought is death; if they wrote an examinations and one way or the other they did not do too well, the first thought is failure; that is the mind set attitude. More than anything else, that is what kills most people in the hospital, especially where you have an open ward, you find that everyday, you wake up and you can't find the patients next to you or the ones down the end of the ward, now you ask the nurse what happened to the person and you are told that he is dead. You ask again, "Nurse, what happened to that one", answer- "He is dead!" "Nurse, what killed that one and they say, "it is pile" - the mind set. Very soon, if he himself does not get himself delivered from that mind set, he too will die there. There are some people that the enemy is saying certain things will not be possible for and they have already agreed with the enemy.
Life itself is a battle of attitude- your attitude can make or break you; your attitude can heal or hurt you. Your attitude can make you a lot of friends or make you a lot of enemies. Attitude is sometimes what happens in the office when a boss is removed or is retired and people will begin to do praise worship that wicked man/woman is gone. Your attitude can make you very happy or very miserable; it can make you a success or a failure. There is power in attitude. After surrendering our lives to Jesus, attitudinal deliverance is the next important thing that most of us need. There are some people who show nonchalant attitude about everything in life; their attitude is that of unconcern, even in the house of God or in the things of God, they show nonchalant attitude- they are not really bothered or concerned. There are young people scattered around probably in the congregation in this service as I am talking, who see their colleagues singing, they see their colleagues doing some things to serve the Lord, yet they are not concerned, they don't want to participate in anything. They are completely unconcerned and some parents too are unconcerned about whether their children are serving the Lord or not. As these children's custodians, when you ask them, "Why are these children not serving the Lord", they will tell you, "I have spoken to them, I can not do more than speaking." Wrong! You can do more than speaking; you can fall down on your knees and pray them into what or where you want them to be. Attitude reveals the real you; it helps to understand who you really are. Your attitude is more important than the facts that are available, it is more important than those circumstances, it is more important than what others are seeing, it is more important than your past, it is more important than your education, it is more important than your money. That attitude represents your disposition; the reason why people have bad attitudes towards you is because you have a bad attitude inside of you; what you give is what you get- simple! Your attitude determines the failure or success of every relationship in your life.
